I decided to do the Student Rec Center. This is a community that I felt many of the Bloomsburg University students are a member of. Looking at each of these time diaries you can see that even though students have a busy daily schedule, they still take an hour or two out of their day to work out and go to the gym. I feel that many students choose to go to the gym because it helps students interact with other students, get a good workout (staying in shape), as well as relieving stress from course work. The Recreation Center offers students with an indoor track, basketball court, volleyball, and soccer nets. Also included is a fitness room where students can take fitness classes such as Yoga and Zumba. These classes are offered at several different times, allowing students to plan their schedules around the fitness classes. Also included in the Rec center are raquetball courts, and a ping pong table. For those interested in lifting weights, there is a separate room for that as well. In this room their is multiple weight -lifting machines. Along with the weight room is also the fitness room, including machines that most use for cardio such as tread-mills and elipticals. Just when you think the Rec center couldn't get any better, they also have a Rock climbing wall for those who are adventurous. The Rec center is a great escape for Bloomsburg University students to relax, have fun, and stay fit.

Question: What does the data you collect suggest to you about the literacy practices of this particular group?
Looking at the time diaries as well as spending time in the Rec Center I have noticed that many students go to the gym. It was interesting to me because I felt as though not a lot of students would have so much time considering other things they must be busy doing such as going to class, doing class work outside of class, participating in clubs, sports, as well as studying, or having a job. Fortunately, through the hectic lives of college students, students still find the time to fit the gym into their busy schedules. Is it because students may try to accommodate for not being active in a sport? Could it be because students like to relieve stress from school so going to gym is almost like their escape? Whatever the reason may be, students still have the motivation and dedication to continue with this task each day.
